On Line CPR & First Aid Courses
GETTING STARTED
American Red Cross online training is really easy to get started. All you need is an Internet connection. Our courses work within all current browsers such as Internet Explorer 5.0 +, FireFox and Netscape; download time will vary based on user's Internet connection.
You can learn online even if you don't have a computer at home. Many public libraries offer Internet access. Check with your local library to see if you can use their system (charges and availability are mandated by the library). Additionally, if you are a user in Minot or the surrounding area, you may use our computer lab. Our lab is located in our headquarters, located at 2021 4th Ave NW, Minot, ND 58703. Please contact (701) 852-2828 to schedule a weekday appointment.
CHOOSING A COURSE
The course descriptions should help you decide which course to take. If you are taking a course required for work, please verify the course with your employer before you register. Our courses do meet OSHA and JAMA standards.
The American Red Cross does not dictate which course you may be required to take.
SIGN UP FOR A COURSE
You can sign up for a course from our secure site anytime. Your username and password are generated automatically so that you can begin your course quickly -no matter what time of day or night. If you do not have an email address, contact User Support.
PAYMENT
You can pay for your course(s) online. Our secure system accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards.
If you do not have a credit card, you may register by mail or in person. To pay by check, please complete the online registration process selecting "Check" as the payment method. Print the form generated and include with your correspondence. Check or money orders may be sent to the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis, 441 E. 10th St., Indianapolis, IN 46202 (note the course title in the memo line).

You must request a refund within 10 business days of your transaction and a $10 processing fee will be applied. To request a refund, contact User Support. You will need to provide your name, phone number and reason for refund request.
COURSE TIMELINE
Online courses must be completed within 14 days of your registration. Basic Aid Training online is an exception; 365 days are allowed for completion.
My log in is expired. If your registration is less than 30 days expired, you will be granted a one-time 72-hour extension to complete your class. If you do not complete within the 72-hour period you will need to register and pay again to complete your class. To request an extension, contact User Support.
COURSE COMPLETION
You must pass the final online test with an 80% or better to gain certification and/or attend a skill session. We recommend that you print your test answers.
You are allowed 2 attempts to pass the course. If you do not pass the course within 2 attempts, you may want to consider taking a traditional classroom course. If you wish to continue with online training, you must register and pay for a new course. If you believe there was an error in the scoring of your exam, please contact User Support.
CERTIFICATION
Usernames and passwords are non-transferable! You (the registered participant) are the only person authorized to obtain certification with your assigned username and password. The registered participant is the only person eligible for certification. If you require assistance reading the material, you may have someone read the content to you; however, the test is solely your responsibility. You will be asked to accept terms that state you are the participant who is completing the course. Failure to accept the terms results in submission failure. Accepting the terms verifies the participant. Falsification of this information constitutes perjury.
To be certified in First Aid, CPR, or AED skills, Red Cross standards mandate that you must attend a skill session and perform the skills on a manikin with a Red Cross authorized instructor. This skill session must be done in person within 30 days of your course completion date. You will receive your certificate when you complete the skill session. Skill sessions are offered every Tuesday at noon at the Mid-Dakota Chapter office. To schedule a skill session please contact us our Minot office at (701) 852-2828.
Courses such as Universal Precautions do not require a skill session; once you successfully complete the course, you will receive an American Red Cross certificate by mail within 5-7 business days. If you live within the United States and it has been longer than 7 business days, please contact User Support. If you live outside of the United States, it may take as long as 3 weeks to receive your certificate.
